"Great gift! I bought this for a friend's birthday and we both enjoy the new Dr. Who. He has since watched it through to completion multiple times and has seen the extras and watched the commentary as well. He's joined on his adventures by Karen Gillan as the feisty redhead Amy Pond, who provides the Doctor with a companion willing to butt heads with him on occasion. Also joining them on occasion is Amy's fiance Rory, played by Arthur Darvill, and the mysterious River Song, once again CSI New York the complete seasons 1-6 played by Alex Kingston, reprising cheap Rookie Blue her role from the previous regular season.Steven Moffatt, no stranger to the world of the Good Doctor, has written several stories before, including the classic "Blink" and the two-part adventure "Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead." As Head Writer for the new series, he's written six of the thirteen episodes. Five of those episodes (The premiere episode, "The Eleventh Hour;" the two-parter "The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone" that sees the ncis series the complete seasons 1-7 return of the creepy and sinister Weeping Angels; and the two-part finale "The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang," where the Doctor faces his greatest challenge yet) are destined to become classics! The other standout episode is "Vincent and the Doctor," where the Doctor and Amy join Vincent van Gogh to fight an alien threat. The other episodes are good overall. However, there are two Scrubs complete seasons 1-9 drawbacks to this season. The first is that the show suffers from a slight lack of cohesion. Unlike previous leverage box set season 1-3 seasons, where all the episodes melded together well despite the many locations through time and space, this one tends to go all over the place buy Star Trek Deep Space Nine tv series 1-7 without sticking together well. The other problem is Episode Three, The Big Bang Theory dvd season 1-3 box set "Victory of the Daleks." Although the episode is good overall, the unwelcome return of the Doctor's greatest enemy mars the whole endeavor, and shows that the Daleks are quickly becoming stale. However, other than these problems, the new season of "Doctor Who" is strong overall, and bodes well for the show's future. The Blu-ray release is good as well, with terrific picture and sound,"" and a good amount of extras. Fans will definitely find this season of the show worth owning.Program/Blu-ray Grade: B+ """""
"DW: 5 STARS***** ""I became Doctor Who complete series 1-5 collection season boxset hooked on the Doctor back in the 70's (like most of us in the USA), thanks to PBS (remember those fund raising PBS/WHO marathons?). The new series is terrific! Matt Smith is hilarious and has made the role his own. Frasier dvd season 1-11 complete sets Sure, it's fluff (DW always has been), but it's incredibly entertaining and well done (can't beat those BBC-trained actors). Recommendation: if you have younger kids or grandchildren, and DW is tv series purchase 1-8 Monk a little too intense for them at times, try "The Sarah Jane Adventures." The series is extremely well done- and we enjoy it as much as our grandchildren do. In fact,"" I believe David Tennant will be making an appearance as the Doctor in one of the current season's episodes. The show is in it's third season. """""
